Ok, technically I wasn’t wearing this outfit during Autumn (le gasp! is this blog full of blatant lies and misinformation?!). However, before everyone gets into a righteous tizzy, I am titling this post as is because I would definitely rock this outfit during Autumn. White jeans are not just summer staples but sartorial gems all year.
What I’m Wearing
White Jeans: Atterley (which, sadly, has gone out of business, but other great ones are here and here) | Sweater: ASOS | Flats: Dune (old)| Bag: French Connection
I actually wore this outfit in Helsinki, on a day that felt incredibly autumnal. Stag and I went exploring the world heritage site of Suomenlinna on a particularly chill and sunny day in August, and while I was lamenting having to wear a sweater in August, the day had that wonderful chill in the air that made me think of pumpkin spice everything and orange leaves in a huge pile.
In the end, I conceded that, actually, having to wear a sweater in the summer was worth it to have that first fresh taste of fall.
To make the jeans feel less summer — but still in a neutral, light palette — I paired it with my favourite ASOS grey jumper. I must have about 20 jumpers in my closet, but I tend to wear this one about 3 times a week. It’s the perfect mix of cozy, stylish and comfortable.
And for further proof that white jeans work in Autumn, Winter and beyond, here are some inspiring picks from much more glamorous and well-dressed stylistas than me. (All pics from a Sheerluxe article that spoke of the wonders of white in winter. Indestructible Proof.)
