Guys, there are just so many things wrong with this outfit post. Firstly, it was Sunday, and I was so tired from a hen do the day before (i.e bachlorette party for my fellow Americans), that I just couldn’t be bothered the entire day. Case in point: I’m not wearing any makeup. And not in that “oh I have no makeup on, except for foundation and concealer and some mascara … which is practically no makeup” kind of way. Totally au natural.
I also couldn’t be bothered to dry my hair, so I threw it back into a rough braid. And by ‘rough,’ I mean I don’t actually know how to braid hair properly (I am hairfail), so it’s mostly just twisted. These pictures are also taken on my phone, not on my fancy new camera, because today was “don’t leave the house with anything” day.
Yes, this really is the worst outfit post. But then I realised: so what?
Seriously, I kid you not when I say there was 0 planning to do with these pictures. I wasn’t even wearing a bra for crying out loud (thank you moo-moo-like dresses), because really, I anticipated that no one beyond me, Stag and the sunshine would see me all day.
Yes, this really is the worst outfit post. But then I realised: so what? Why do outfit posts have to be something glamorous, unattainable, my-perfect-foot-always-stepping-out-of-the-door? This blog here, it’s is my place to be real with you — and with myself. Therefore, yes you should what I look like on a given Sunday, makeup-less and all. And see my new favourite summer dress (on sale!). Because maybe you’ll love it as much as I do.
So now I’m sticking with it: it’s the best outfit post. Mostly because, seriously guys, this dress is gloriously unsnug, flowy and just so comfortable on a hot summer day. Add a not-too-bright feather print, and you’re sartorially set.
What I’m Wearing
Dress: Little White Lies (in the sale!) | Sandals: Shuh (old, similar ones that I love here) | Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs at TK Maxx (similar here) | Tote: TopShop
What’s your go-to summer outfit when it’s a Sunday and you just can’t care? Would love to hear your thoughts on the idea of ‘un-styled’ outfit posts!
