Another season, another procrastinate my capsule wardrobe posts, hello packing post. This time, Nick and I are off to Greece, relishing in a (mini) babymoon as a last European hurrah before I am too big to travel. I guess, technically, this is also a honeymoon that we never got to enjoy the first time around. Either way: it’s an adults-only resort, pool-and-beach aplenty, I want to feel like a glamazon kind of vacation. Which, if you’ve indulged in any of my former travel posts, is unlike us. We are usually the “lets make vacations stressful!” kind of people, jumping from one location to the next, caffeine adventures abounding.
This time? A resort awaits us. Maybe some food. A BOOK. And pool time. Bliss.
One aspect that has made figuring out what to pack for this babymoon immensely difficult is, well, my pregnant body (IRONY). Being pregnant — well, I have just not felt good about myself, if I’m honest. Between moving, pregnancy, and COVID, I’ve put on a fair bit of weight, my limbs more cellulite-ridden than I frankly care to see. I’ve been scouring the internet (and my bank balance, gulp) trying to find things that fit. And it just feels like nothing does. I continuously see photo after photo of pregnant women swanning around in lovely, shape-hugging frocks, their faces glowing, their bumps cradled. Why can I find nothing except leggings and a giant hoodie to squeeze in to?
Honestly? I’ve felt pretty crap about myself, self-esteem wise and style, these past few weeks (months?). Not ideal when your part-time job is to advise people on how to dress stylishly, practically, and feel fabulous. Great.
So, if you’re like me and desperately searching for some Babymoon Style Inspo and advice, I hope this guide is useful to you. I’ve stuck to a nice neutral palette, inspired by warm sunsets in Greece with shades of ochre and honey. Everything here is something that can be used well beyond pregnancy, and nestles seamlessly into a Summer capsule wardrobe.

Packing for a Babymoon: Item Specifics
Spoiler alert: everything listed below is non-maternity, but works just as well for bumps or non-bumps. The trick is to stick to loose, flowing maxi dresses, such as this one from Dilly Grey, which doubles as a beach cover-up (perfect for that squeezed cabin suitcase allowance). Maxi dresses look more elegant than a midi or (dreaded) mini cut. Rather than anything straight-down, opt for details of lace, folds, and empire-cuts; Matteau make the best sustainable iterations*.
Comfortable, mid-rise shorts are ideal for a babymoon packing list. Swimsuit cover-up, day out exploring, lunch plans, all feasible if the cut is comfy enough. Opt for any that sit below the waist. These ones are from Arket* (I also have the pants*) are perfect. If you want to go all out, go for a coordinated set that can double as comfy loungewear — I love this one from Sleeper*.
Finally, add lashings of gold jewelry to bring out your tan and instantly elevate any outfit from city to ‘Holiday in Greece.’ The Lucy Williams Roman collection from Missoma* is perfect — all pieces in a stunning orangey-gold that look effortless. Plus, the Roman iconography is great for a Greek adventure. I will be bringing my Roman Coin necklace and beaded cuff. * I also have been waiting for the perfect holiday to break out these moon and star dangling earrings from Marte Frisnes. I’ve wanted to buy them for years and took the plunge recently. They are so, so beautiful, and perfect for balmy summer nights under the stars.
