It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Finds post, and I have to say, I miss them!* This Friday Finds is about pyjamas — because when I like something, I apparently can’t let it go and post about it like crazy. Autumn 2016 was inadvertently about leopard print (three. leopard posts. in a row. SORRY). And apparently early 2017 is all about The Pyjama, evidenced by my Valentine’s Day post earlier this month and now my Ode to the PJ.
Maybe it’s because I’m a year into wedded bliss, and I still relish in mine and Stag’s date nights at home. Maybe it’s because I’m approaching 30 and finally have an excuse to be the stay-at-home old-lady I’ve always been deep inside. Or maybe it’s because I suddenly see the merit on investing money and care on the clothing items I’d always previously overlooked but are just so I can feel beautiful and comfortable.
But recently, I’ve noticed that I’ve been more and more drawn to pyjamas and loungewear than ever before.

I’ve already chatted about my love for all things cosy and why it’s so important to stop for a moment, slow for a while and appreciate being at home. Many people do this exercise at Christmas (hello hygge everywhere), but really, it should be something we practice year-round, like a habit.
What’s the best way to kick start a habit? Buy something that inspires you to commit to it. Enter in: beautiful, well made, soft-and-glorious pyjamas. The ones that make you want to skip the heels and sparkles in favour of scrabble and tea at home.
The Best Pyjamas: Where to Buy Them
This year, one of my resolutions is to buy fewer things of higher quality as well as to support local, independent or smaller brands whenever I can. (As an aside: more news as to why I’m stocking up on British-made clothing I can’t get other places coming soon….)
Luckily for us Britain-dwellers, there are a lot of great British brands and businesses that have oh-so lovely and quality pyjamas on offer. Yes, some are bigger high street retailers, but
Best for… Quality: Desmond & Dempsey
Expensive but so worth it. My favourite of all time. One of my favourite British brands by far.
Best for… High Street Hits: Jigsaw
Great sales and really beautiful offerings for a high street brand.
Best for… Variety of Prints: Yawn
Again, a bit on the pricey side, but they offer a huge array of prints in a variety of pyjama styles to suit everyone.
Best for… Pure Luxury: Yolke
The most beautiful silk pyjamas in liberty-esque prints at fairly outlandish prices. The pyjamas I really wish I could afford.
Best for…Separates: Mish Lonon
They have literally every print available in cami, shorts, pants and shirt, so you can mix and match. Great if you’re like me and can only sleep in shorts. Two people in one bed = body heat galore!
